The Chippewa UM Pre-School is located at the Chippewa United Methodist Church. Classes are available for 3, 4 & 5 year olds. The preschool classes run from September through May.
The KinderKids classes are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Noon to 3pm. A child must be 5 years old by September 1st of the beginning of the school year and have already attended a Pre-K program. The KinderKids classes will review and master all kindergarten readiness skills as well as master the sounds of the letter. The students will be exposed to math, science, literature, etc. This class is meant for the child that may not be ready for kindergarten, due to having a summer birthday or other related need.
The Pre-Kindergarten classes are Monday, Wednesday and Friday with a morning session from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and an afternoon session from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. A child must be 4 years old by September 1st of the beginning of the school year. The Pre-Kindergarten classes learn kindergarten readiness skills. The curriculum is updated each year to meet the needs of the child and is adapted to the changes each year in the kindergarten curriculum in Beaver County. In addition to social interaction the child will learn the many skills needed to learn how to learn. The children learn calendar skills, alphabet recognition and sounds, fine motor skills through printing names, letters and numbers and cutting, gross motor skills through playing and physical education and various units including seasons, environment, and science.
The Toddler classes are Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. A child must be 3 years old by September 1st of the beginning of the school year and be potty trained. The Toddler class has an emphasis on social interaction, sharing, attention span, orderliness, following classroom routines as well as being exposed to what they will be learning in the Pre-K class.
The staff at the Chippewa UM Pre-School is committed to preparing your child for their upcoming learning years. The teaching staff includes two teachers with elementary education degrees and state clearances. They have 19 years experience at the Chippewa UM Pre-School as well as many years prior in the local school districts. The teaching staff also includes two assistants that have many years of experience with young children and also have state clearances. This staff makes your child’s learning experience a priority and brings a wealth of experience and insights to their education.
